Lúc 9:53:09 sáng ngày 28/11/2013, Quốc hội Việt Nam khóa XIII, kỳ họp thứ 6 đã biểu quyết thông qua bản Hiến pháp mới 2013 với 486 phiếu thuận, 2 phiếu trắng và không có phiếu chống trong tổng số 488 đại biểu có mặt đã bỏ phiếu tại Hội trường Quốc hội.

Truyền thông Nhà nước Việt Nam cho biết các vị đại biểu đồng loạt đứng lên vỗ tay mừng “giờ phút lịch sử” sau khi có kết quả như lời của Chủ tịch Quốc hội Nguyễn Sinh Hùng.

Cũng cần nói thêm rằng trên 90% đại biểu Quốc hội hiện nay là đảng viên Đảng Cộng Sản Việt Nam (ĐCSVN).

Hiến pháp 2013 vừa được thông qua có tổng cộng 11 chương, 120 điều, sẽ bắt đầu có hiệu lực kể từ ngày 1/1/2014, trong đó tiếp tục tái khẳng định vai trò độc quyền lãnh đạo của ĐCSVN về cả 2 mặt chính trị và kinh tế.
